So I’ve recently been contracted to create a hybrid light plant that will run starlink, lights and cameras. Under a 2000W load. I knew I’d want Victron but I’m a little green to the platforms. Currently we’re testing with 800ah of AGM Batts.
I chose to go with the MP3000 at 12v for simplicity of adding 12v loads but I can see moving to a 24 or 48v system in future generations.
Issues at present:
AC output shows 100-150W of load with nothing connected. “Do I have a grounding issue? It is floating.”
The MP 12V has a max charge rate of 120A at 12V so the 7kW split phase generator is underutilized. I’d like to hit 200A charge rate. Maybe we’ll upsize the bank too and we could use even more recharge amps. Also, I’d prefer a Victron unit that pulled evenly from the 240V Gen for battery charging.
My next endeavor is digging into AGS technologies that offer a glow plug timing relay. At that point we’ll have a working model.
I plan to cut the battery base and slide the batts forward giving room to locate the BlueSea busbars and ect. That lower inside corner is crowded in this current configuration. Also, the 10cm top spacing for MP II is violated but we’ll correct that on later models
I’m open to suggestions, planning to go to the training in Raleigh, NC to get sharpened up!
