Main Display Needs Larger Clock Face

I’d love to see an actual clock display (analog or digital) as part of the main display since i have the display always on, and then i’d be able to see what time it is from across the room instead of having to get up and walk across and see it in very small font at the top!

You have the same name as my brother, are you in california?

What type of display are you using ?

Personally my victron display primary function is to display system information and not what time it is.

Having a larger clock face would simply make other more important information smaller.

I’d suggest getting a watch or clock or phone with large enough display so you don’t need to move.

I see. I could write you a custom module for your interface.

As far as I know though unfortunately that would void your warranty if something broke while using it. And your dealer could refuse warranty in the case of system modification. So you’d have to ask your dealer if that would be something they could do for you.

Are you using guiv1 or 2 ?

Ill just make the module and share it with you, then you can ask your dealer if they are fine with installing that for you, or you getting help to install it from me or someone else.

I’m thinking something along the lines of a screen-saver that would only show a large clock?

Or are you looking for a clock widget that is part of the grid:

B:

The code I used got flagged because I intentionally included an incorrect file location so users who don’t know how to install it, don’t break their systems.

If I comple the module and share it, it can’t be verified or modified.

I provided the code with the explicit warning that a professional should install it.

i love the clock widget with the rest of the grid! that is awesome! what would my next steps be?

well Dan, I can only simulate the display, and as far as I know, that’s your target, not the web interface. Thats why I had to provide the code the way that I did. And I had to provide it with the warning.

Unfortunately it got flagged so was deleted. I didnt save any of that code because I wont use it…because I use the web display.

If someone doesn’t know how to modify that, they could really break their system, and someone would have to go through allot of trouble sorting it out. Thats why I left that “mistake” in there so that a user couldn’t unintentionally break something.

We can work thru it together if you like and are willing to take the risk, but its going to be a steep curve.

If not i can just provide the code to your installer and they can mod the system for you.

Which do you prefer?

I Love the new clock, but i guess we’ll skip for now, and get a small wall clock and not change the original settings on the victron. Thank you so much for all your work!
