Hello, I am putting together a system to supplement a Hatteras 58 long range cruiser. The vessel shore power inlets are 240 V 50 amp. I will install 3900 W of PV in parallel with one of the generator inputs that will feed into the vessel Power selection panel. This would be backed up with 600 amp hours, 48 V DC batteries. The vessel has on board conversion from 240 to 120 V assuming the Quattro 48 15,000 would be the best solution in this scenario.
I would like to be able to auto start and stop the generator which is a 20 kW diesel as needed from the unit for battery charging As required. Would an auto transformer be needed to balance 120 V legs coming from Quattro?
Is there an MPPT Calc that is applicable to the Quattros, I found one for the easy Solar , however the inverter isn’t capable of loads from the ship, Otherwise, it seems it could also be an ideal solution.
