Fuses questions for Multiplus-II 24/3000W

Hello,

We are building our electrical system in 24V and will be using Multiplus-II 24V/3000W.

Based on the manual it state a single 1/0 with a 300A Fuse which with marine grade wires (abyc chart) seems pretty fine, if not in engine room and less than 5 meters. But if the temperature rise let say over 40-50 celcius (I guess we wouldn ot be using the inverter if its that high).

But let say we do use it at 40-50 celcius, i beleive 1/0 and a 300A fuse is not gonna protect the wire?

We were thinking to do 2/0 cables… using T-Fuse, then Lynx distributor with 300A Fuse but with engine room temperature that seems risky too.

We are then thinking to use a 175A fuse ( which would be 100% safe ) and we do not plan to use more than 2800 - 3500W on the inverter anyway. I know we would be limiting ourself but is our mat right? Ambient temperature in a campervan can be quite high and i want to be on the “safer” side of things.

Anything i’m missing?

The 24/3000 is only good for 2400W

Yes, but doesnt it surge ?

In reality we will only use a cooktop (1800W) and maybe a few device.. so way below (2400W).

I read somewhere that i guess the surge can be 5500W for maybe 30sec .. so yeah your right htat the maximum is mostly 2400W.

Which is good for us.

Probably some AI

I think its closer to 2 Sec

With the temperatures in your engine room you’d better look at the derating table of the multiplus, those 2400W are @ 25c.

Yes, it will do 5500w. But it doesn’t tell you for how long.

Question on the AC Output. Let say we want to simply do

AC-OUT => 20A Braker => GFCI Outlet => (1-2 outlet)

Does that make sense ?

Take one of these , wire the sockets with 2.5 sqmm

Last question i guess for now..

I know the victron 24/3000A requires 18mm ferrules on AC Input with like 6/3

Can we use 10/3 cables ? If we know we will limit the Input at 15A ?

I don’t think it will work…

:(, i found some 6/3 cables (round triplex) i guess that would be better. I wish i could of used my 10/3 oh well… more expense haha

Thanks
