EV charger not resuming charging

But if the vehicle is waking up with a software restart of the EVCS, it will probably work with the firmware that we are preparing

Fixed, updating to the latest version did the trick . THanks !

Totaly agreed with Nuno, even former cheap-ass Chinese evcs worked fine on my Kia Sportage. Changed to Victron because of the control possibilities in my Victron DESS system. Now i have to dis/connect the plug to be able to charge……. Victron has some work to do imho.

Hope the update will be issued soon.

Are you reading the messages above?

Yes, i read the whole posting…
And yes, i hope the update will be issued soon!

You say that you totally agreed with Nuno, but he replied that he updated the unit and resuming charging works.
And then you said that cheap Chinese evcs was working, I presume not resuming the charging. Resuming charging is something that the vehicles should be capable as well. So there are things that cannot be controlled from the EVCS side.

Sorry, I misinterpreted the posting about the soft restart, i will try to update my evcs to latest version and test the dis/connect procedure.
Let you know as soon as tested!

no problem

I totally agree that problem is in SW implementation of the EVs, because I had exactly the same problem with previous Renault Zoe and also with VW ID.3. Now with Tesla Y I have no problem with EV sleeping/waking and also no problem with several charging interruption in Auto mode after which previous EVs were not able to continue in charging…
And probably this problem still persists on new European EVs, which is sad and is also reason, why I did not buy European EV unfortunately, until we learn to do EVs properly and functionally here in Europe…
One of my customer is dealing with this problem, because he has Renault Zoe. So I am glad to see, that you are preparing SW solution which could help without doing some HW modifications (for example Shelly relay controlled in Node-RED). :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

So if it works with a different car, your conclusion was that is a problem with the software implementation??

He means the sw of the cars :joy:

but it can also be a hardware issue, those cars are not designed to resume charging. And most of them are not receiving software updates since the fabrication date
So I wouldn’t expect improvements on those cars

I thought SW of the EV of course, the goal of my post was that the problem is not definitely on your (Victron) side.
No matter if the issue is more or less on HW or SW side, this is very big reason for my decision to not buy VW/Škoda, Stellantis and other EU EVs now due to content of SW updates and a lot of problems during and after SW updates, unfortunately…

Anyway, when do you @Lpopescu expect new SW for EVCS, even in beta for testing?

On what vehicle you are planning to test?

On another installation (colleague’s installation) who owns Renault Zoe, because i don’t have these problems with my Tesla Y.

Hi @Lpopescu , so no good results with Zoe, as you expected…
So we will add relay into CP line as obviously the only functional solution. Anyway, thank you for your help and beta SW for testing.

yes, as expected

Just to add to this further. We have a dacia Spring, Renault zoe and two other similar cars.
All of them have the same problem, the charger will charge manually the first time, no auto or scheduled charge. If we soft restart the charger they begin charging.
Is this in the pipeline to be adressed via firmware or for most of our installations if we can reset the charger by writing to modbus address i can live with that for now.

Andy, if you read the discussion above, I explained that there is nothing we can do on the EVCS side, the vehicle goes to sleep, and it is waking up only with cable disconnect.
