I have a Semi tractor that uses 4 batteries in parallel. I replaced the lead acid with 4 LiFePO4 Dual Purpose Starter (cranking) batteries. There is no separate starter battery. I’m told I should have a dc/dc charger to protect the batteries and my alternator, so I purchased the Orion XS 50A. It doesn’t appear to work as expected.
The batteries are working great, but the intent is to power my truck, including 12v A/C, while parked to limit idling. I’m mostly hoping to monitor the batteries to prevent going below 20% so I can start my truck, but protecting the batteries and alternator seem like a good thing too.
Anyone dealt with this?
