I am planning a marine installation of a single 250 amp 12volt Balmar alternator and have had design work by reputable technicians that plan to use parallel argofets in order to handle the output current. Each isolator has a 200 amp limitation How would this installation equally load each isolator or does it not matter if current is equally distributed The schematic is basic and cable lengths and bus bars would be constructed to be equal.
I have seen these used in parallel with 2 alternators. You might have a problem if one fails or does not turn on, and the full current is going through one unit. You might need a dash alarm to see if both are active.
