Hi there,
First time poster and complete beginner here…
I have a camper trailer with 12v/200ah setup. Charging is dcdc from car + solar. I am wanting to be able to plug an additional portal solar blanket into the dcdc input on the drawbar when the trailer is unhitched and we are camping for additional charging input (additional to the solar array already installed on the trailer). When i do this, no input charge occurs and the victron app says “charge is disabled due to: remote input inactive”. Otherwise works fine when connected to the car. Is there something needed, like a solar regulator, between the solar panels and the dcdc charger? Or does solar panel connected to dcdc charger input just not work at all?
Thanks!
What you really need is an MPPT. It looks someone used the remote switch on the dcdc charger to diable the unit when its not connected. Have a look at the 100/20 MPPT solar charge control and connect to the battery. You do have a 12V system?
