Does anyone have experience with the company Projoy? I looked them up and they seem a Chinese company but that doesn’t necessarily mean bad. Epever for example are great and affordable.
There is a 2 pole DC isolator from this company rated at 16A from the shop I want to buy all the other solar stuff from for my new panels I want to get.
The string I want to install it to will be 14.4A short circuit current with a string of x2 in series. So will that 16A isolator be high enough over 14.4 to be safe or do you have to use the minimum +20% buffer rule like with cable current rating?
If so there is a 25A one but that one is 4 pole. The shop doesn’t sell any other 2 poles, only MCBs then which I am not sure if they would or wouldn’t work? As I want to install outdoors I think a boxed isolator will be better? I don’t understand what the 4 pole does but I already have a 2 pole on my existing panels so understand that. Will 4 pole be unsuitable?
Want to know which one will be most suitable to buy. The 2 pole at 16A will be the one I understand but must know if that is going to be rated high enough to be safe.
By the way if I already have a Kraus and Naimer 25A isolator inside the van then is there any point getting a second one outside? The only reason I thought was perhaps in the case of carrying the cable when connecting and disconnecting as the new string will be ground mounted and plugged and unplugged to the van with Anderson connectors. I thought maybe it would be good to get another one in case of possible shorting when carrying to put at the array outside or is that unnecessary?
I thought it is a possible risk if carrying and it is wet or dropped it in water as then it would make a circuit wouldn’t it?
