I have an older Onan generator that outputs 2 legs of 60 volts each. I am trying to find out if a Victron Auto Transformer can be used to combine these separate phases in one 120 volt leg and then into a MultiPlus II.
First test for any continuity between the existing 2 60V legs (L-L, N-N & L- g). If there is, then measure the voltage from L1 -L2. L1 and L2 to ground should both be open.
If there is not, then you can connect N1 - N2, measure the voltage L1 - L2 . If that is zero, then reconnect N1 to L2, and try again. Should be needless to say to take extreme care when doing this.
Once you get to 120V, then you can connect the auto transformer to get 120-0-120 or connect the 120 direct to a 120V multiplus.
