How to adjust EasySolar charge voltage for a LiFePO4 battery by DIP switch?
- Upgrade the firmware to include the latest battery models.
- Use a Mk3 and VE-configure to set the battery parameters.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
It means that I should buy an additional mandatory accessory (Interface MK3-USB) to update firmware.
Sorry, I’m a beginner. Is it enough? Or I should also buy VE.Direct to USB interface?
I’m disappointed to have a new device in April 2026 with old firmware.
I noted a phrase on the front panel of EasySolar: “Charge lead-acid or li-ion batteries only.”
The MK3 is needed for programming and fine tuning the battery parameters, not just for updating the firmware.
The VE-Direct is needed only for the MPPT’s - where one does not have bluetooth access, and the smaller inverters.
Don’t need to apologise for being a beginner - we all were once.
Distributors NEVER update firmware unless they are also installing. The firmware update may or may not be needed, but is recommended.
so? These inverters are generally sufficiently flexible to charge any battery where the charge end point can be determined by voltage. they follow the CC/CV/FV characteristic, constant current to absorption voltage, constant voltage until time has expired or until current drops to threshold, then float voltage. Li-ion and LiFePO4 are pretty much the same for charging. Most of these inverters these days are used with LiFePO4 batteries.
