My question is what equipment should i use in order to charge from one mppt charger 2 seperate battery banks. I found some solutions that refer to alternators as a charging source. In our case the source will be 2 solar panels with an mppt.
You only have to decouple the two + supply lines to the battery banks from each other in the return current using diodes.
Victron has this as an ‘Argo FET battery isolator’.
the charging voltage only needs to be about 0.3V higher … that works perfectly. It is not a highly complex system …
If there was a smartshunt in the system to transmit the charge status and measure the tail current … and then transmit it to the Mppt would be great, but it also works just like that …
and theoretically a diode would be sufficient … then the Mppt would still have ‘feedback’
