Quick inverter on off switch

Gents, I could do with your help regarding Assistants (as opposed to NR), simply because what I wNt to do is super simple but has me scratching my head.

The ANL fuses that feed my 3000 VA inverter get warm (75C ish) and it bothers me.

I’m going to connect a temp sense direct to the Multi

I wanted to create an “assistant” to turn the inverter off if the temp sense exceeds 70C.

safety switch is the obvious choice but when I select temp sense as the input it asks if it is “open or closed”. This makes no sense to me. For a temp sense I was expecting a temperature setting. Open / 'Closed for a Aux input, I would understand but not a temp sense. Can any of you help?

Logan, did you get your head around “Assistants” or did you jump straight to NR. I’m trying to get the “Safety Switch” of my Multi to operate when a specific temperature is read on the Multi Temp Sense but I can’t make sense of it, pardon the pun. When I select the Temp Sense as the trigger / parameter it states open / closed which makes sense for a Aux input but not temperature? Can you shead any light on it for me.

Hi, I west straight to node red and haven’t touched assistants. When you mentioned it I did a bit of a research but I think node red is more flexible

Ironically I was just reading up on the Aux inputs of the Multi for a hard wired solution.

I’ll simply connect the temperature sensor to one of the four Cerbo temp inputs. Use the Cerbo relay control to operate the relay at a given temperature on the relevant Cerbo temp input and then use the relay contact to operate the aux input of the Multi to operate the “Safety Switch” with a simple open / closed function.

It means running a 6m pair of wires from the Cerbo to temperature sensor (to be mounted on the offending fuse, located right next to the Multi) and then another pair of wires from the Cerbo relay output to the Multi Aux input, thus copper rather than logic which is a shame given that the offending fuse is right next to the multi, thus connecting to the Multi’s T sense would have been perfect. Also a tad annoying that the functionality of the Multi’s inbuilt “Assistants” treats the T sense as a third Aux input (which from what I’ve read, it is unless it’s used for compensated charging). I have no experience of Node Red thus I’m a bit frightened of it until I’ve delved a little thus I’ll stick to what I know.

There is a plethora of info on NR, thus I’ll see if I can find a way to set up a virtual installation to practice playing with Node Red code.

Also if you wanted to simplify your circuit you have a few options

Option 1: Buy a temperature relay and wire that in https://a.aliexpress.com/_mMkgWQt

(A device that turns on/off when a sensor is in a temperature range)

Option 2: Use node red in the cerbro. Simply plug the temperature sensor into the cerbro and turn the inverter off if it exceeds 71 degrees.
