Exactly, I am not expecting ESS to do that as of now. I can adjust the setpoint just fine with my own system via mqtt to the GX. What I don’t like is DESS confining me in my options.
In the past, I have also changed my “grid setpoint” from summer to winter. For this reason, I am currently monitoring the system. I have the feeling that a change is no longer necessary. DESS regulates this automatically. In times of high PV production, something tends to be fed in, in times of scarce PV output, there is a rather small draw. Watch it yourself
I am not talking about PV, where I basically would agree to your statement.
But in WInter, where PV isn’t plenty and Battery-SoC does not cater for all consumption/loads, I like to exempt some loads from battery backup/supply, where I have a better energy tariff for (i.e. my heatpumps and EVs). I know that ESS/DESS does not cater for that situation, but DESS is preventing me to row in my own part of the solution (while ESS would).
…quote to self, here but I tested again with v3.50beta and there even positive values do not have an effect anymore with DESS = ON
