How to power a 240v device with 24v battery bank using Phoenix inverter?

The data sheet for the Phoenix inverters is confusing. It seems to imply that the output voltage is user configurable for either 120v or 230v. Is this true? (It does not seem so in the demo section of the Victron app)

I need to power a 300-watt, 240v device from a 24v battery bank on a boat and I'd like use the Phoenix 24/500 or 24/375 but am unclear on whether I can really get 230v out of them.

Any advice welcome - thank you!

Up to 8 attachments (including images) can be used with a maximum of 190.8 MiB each and 286.6 MiB total.

For a 300W load (resistive) the 24/375 is too small, hence you should use the 24/500.

Be aware, that a 300W inductive load (motor, fridge, etc.) can not be powered by a 24/500 and you need a larger model.

Phoenix inverters are available in two versions:

230VAC/50Hz (EU power)

120VAC/60Hz (North American power)

They are not selectable. You must go with one version or the other.

They are both single phase output inverters.

If you're on a north american (NA) standard, you may have other issues with your grounds. NA is either single phase 120V with a bonded neutral (N) and ground (G) OR 120/240V split phase with a center tapped neutral and N-G bond.

In other words, equipment designed for 240V may need a specific grounding method, and you need to supply it with the correct version of 240V - single or split phase.

@Keith7WA If they're like the smaller models, the manual tells how to bond neutral and ground.

Thanks all - this is exactly what I needed to know.

You'll need to order a 230v output unit. The datasheet covers a broad range of the Phoenix inverters, and there are versions available in either 120vAC output or 230vAC output.
