I’m trying to figure out what happened here. I turned my generator on to recharge my AGM batteries. According to my Touch display I had 72% SOC and 26.23v on my 24v system. That seemed quite high as I had been running on battery for quite a while.

The Multiplus II went straight to “Storage Mode” charge, I assume because of the 26.23: reading. When I put a Multimeter on the battery it read 24.8v which seemed more reasonable.

I do have a Victron Smart Shunt.

I tried turning the Multiplus II off by the software switch but no difference. So, I turned all ship systems off, disengaged the battery bank and turned the Multiplus II off for 10 minutes.

When I rebooted the Multiplus it went right to Bulk and the volt reading was in line with the multimeter.

What the heck happened? Anything I can do to prevent it from having the same issue in future?

Inspect all of the DC (and ac) power connections for tightness and corrosion.

Thanks. Will do. It is a 6 month old install and was professionally done. But, we have been actively cruising the boat for the last few months and anything is possible.
