Where do public ssh keys go now?

I am following the Victron instructions Venus OS: Root Access [Victron Energy] to allow root ssh access to my Cerbo GX (v3.75).

Those instructions suggest installation of public ssh key to ~/.ssh/authorized_keys. I do not find that on my Cerbo’s file system. Is that in a different place now or is it supposed to be created by me?

~ is short for $HOME. It is /home/root for the root user.
