V3.50 change with new gui. Some cbckground at post below and links.
This is for local network access and doesn’t affect remote console access via VRM.
I’m aware of the change in GUI, which is why I asked “Is it still there and just not exposed in the new gui?” I did find the following in the VRM manual:
This appears to be a change stemming from the new security profiles. As shown above, Technician and Admin roles “can” access without a password. If someone were to hack my VRM account, they would have access to a LOT of installations. We used to suggest owners allow us to set a remote console password and required it for sensitive installations. I’ve wondered if this functionality was going to come back, but now that I think about it a bit more, I suppose it’s better to require 2FA on my account and other technicians in my business that have VRM access.
Victron posted a good slide deck that describes the new security model but I didn’t save it. Do you happen to have a copy of that?
