Webpage fails to activate generator start/stop relay

I have Multiplus 24/3000/70-50 120V and a BMV-712 smart. I am attempting to auto start / stop a 6Kw Kubota Diesel generator.

The generator controller is working correctly. I can short / open the 2 wire start pins and the generator will start / stop. With VE configure, I selected “dedicated generator control” and sent the config. Under “Generator control,” if I invert the auxiliary relay, the generator starts. Using the Gui, I set up the Relay to use Gensat stop/start. I setup the generator under “Devices/Gensat” to start the gensat at 75% and stop at 90%. On the gui, when using “manual start/Stop” all appears to work, but the relay won’t activate, so the the generator doesn’t start. This is using a Raspberry PI V3, running the Venus OS V3.75.

I wired this up using the BMV-712 and it works, but failed to control it from the gui as well.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

By GUI I assume you mean a Cerbo GX or similar? I believe the controls on that will only trigger the relay on the Cerbo itself, not the multiplus. Using VE Configure with the Multiplusrelay as you did would be the way if you didn’t have a Cerbo.

Oops I missed you said a raspberry Pi. I think in that case it triggers the gpio on the pi.

Thanks.

I will give it a try on the Pi GPIO.
