A small release this week. But both changes take some everyday friction out of the way.
Advanced page: We’ve adjusted how the tooltips behave. Until now the tooltip could sit right on top of the part of the chart you were trying to read. Now the charts stay visible while you hover. A small thing. But it’s the kind you notice every time you go digging into your data.
Event log: The filter entries are now grouped, instead of one long flat list. Easier to scan, and it tells you more at a glance about what’s actually going on in your system.
When opening an advanced graph as fullscreen, with the changes to the way values are displayed now, its no longer possible to see both values and timestamp without scrolling the page. I think this is due to a slight scaling problem with fullscreen, but it wasnt an issue until the recent changes.
With the values now displayed on top i think it would be good to also show the timestamp at the top edge of the graph.
Thank you for the clear screenshots of the problem. I’ll discuss with the developers how to make the full screen really full screen, so the whole height of the chart fits in it.
Nice, but good with small widgets.
When you have a big graph, you first focus on the point of interest and then you move your eyes across the screen, where the value of that point is displayed.
Then back on the new point and then across the screen on the value… and so on, and so forth.
When the values were like tooltips, then the whole process was more consistent and you didn’t need to have the eyes move like in cartoons…
True, it is mostly an improvement for the big group of mobile users for which the tooltip just made the graph unworkable. We will definitely now think about how to make it better also for full screen and bigger widgets.
