Good question. It is also a work in progress.
By default we have issued 10 for new users and that increases to 20 with trust levels.
The defaults are too low for our purposes, especially feedback and betas.
So…
When a topic is closed, votes are returned automatically.
If we see we are running out, then we will just raise the allocation. If you have issues, please report it here.

I have only 6 votes and I didn’t vote at all…
And I am at trust level 2 now.

Because when I am hovering my mouse cursor over the Vote button, in any topic, it says like in the printscreen above.
That I am having only 6 votes left…
If you do a reload it should correct now.
You are right. After the reload, now are 10 votes.
But I am remembering that initially, in that test run period until the forum was officially announced, they were indeed 10 votes.
And somewhere along the line, those dropped to 6 votes.
Didn’t bother, but now that the subject was open, I thought that I can ask…

The default was 1. As you can imagine on the beta thread that really wants people to vote, that is mostly pointless.
