I have had the MultiPlus for 9 months now, using only AC-Outout L1 for that time, with NO shore power, solar panels support the boat for all 12v and 120 other than the A/C and water heater.
I am tired of cold showers and wanted to hook-up my water heater. With that said, I choose the AC-output L2. After running the required wire to the panel and attaching to the Multiplus I found out that the AC-ouput L2 is not showing any power on the meter.
What am I missing here?
From what I understand, AC-output L2 is only live when there is shore power - it is AC pass-through
Thanks for the quick response.
I hope you are wrong
I saw a video depicting that I could configure an ASSISTANTs that would allow me turn ON and OFF AC-OUTL2 based on battery percentage.
If it is just a pass thru why would you worry about the batteries?
I have not been able to find documentation on the abilities/configuration of the L2.
In standard as supplied configuration L2 is only live when shore power is present. Critical supplies that must be backed up by the battery go on L1 and non critical on L2.
However, having said that, you are correct that you can use an assistant to override the default function of L2.

Thank you…
Thanks @pwfarnell happy to be wrong about this. Just wish the documentation on these assistants was better.
But since I do not use shore power only solar, this invalidates my use of L2 as a power source thus removing the assistants from the configuration.
I assume the op is actually referring to acout-2 and NOT L2, as L2 is only relevant to the 2x120 unit (unless it is a multiphase multi-inverter configuration, which it does not appear to be). I just thought that some clarification might be in order to avoid readers from confusing the two.
btw - thank you for bringing ASSISTANTs to me - they are totally new to me - I hope you manage to sort the problem
