VenusOS v3.50 / GUI v2 issues/suggestions

Hi guys,

Great work on VenusOS v3.50 - looks fantastic! I have a few questions/issues/suggestions, however:

1. Is there any way to bring back keyboard navigation? That was my primary mode of control on the previous UI and I find it’s much more efficient in terms of navigating the menus.

2. There’s a display issue on my overview tab where my Fronius Symo 15kW inverter is showing “Undefined 0W” - not sure what this is supposed to show?
   

   

3. I’ve enabled secure connections and I’m also running a local nginx server which serves SSL certificates for FQDNs to other local servers I’m running but for some reason, I can’t seem to get past the page below (clicking continue just reloads the page) and I need to address the Venus device directly in order to reach the GUI - any ideas?

Edit: #3 is fixed. For anyone else running nginx: I had to change the nginx settings for this proxy to use https and port 443.

1. Keyboard nav: yes will be coming back. Can take a little while. but is definitively on the list.

2. Fixed per beta v3.51~2.

I don’t know if i am reporting it to the correct thread, but this is what i’ve noticed:
Runing 3.50.

• I cannot change the Role of a VM-3P75CT to EV Charger. This is only possible with other type of meters; e.g. a EM24 Ethernet. Maybe this option is not (yet) available?

• Device List / JK-BMS / History is showing 35.22MWh, but it looks like is off a factor 100. It should be 352.2 kWh or 0.352MWh. I don’t know if the cause is in firmware 15.30 of the BMS, or VenusOS.

• Device List is not showing the names i gave to the Energy meters VM-3P75CT, while other type of meters do show up as the Name i gave to it. There is no ‘Name’ field anymore below ‘Device’. The name-field is available on (emulated) EM24 Ethernet meters i have.

I have observed the following problem.
At my wlan the new ui loads fast
See this

From outside I use a WireGuard vpn and the new ui need around 1 min to load see here

But at the same place the same vpn the old ui loads fast at all. See here

So what are the problem with the new ui and vpn.
If had have a full 5g connection and my home are connected to the ISP with 250mbyte.

Hey guys,

Just updated to 3.50 and love the new look and easier navigation. One issue I’m having is the battery percentage doesn’t reach 100% even though my SmartShunt does. Rather it stays at 99%. It was reading correctly before upgrading.

Dear Victron team
thank you very much for the work for the new UI, it is very refreshing minimal et nice to the eyes.
the old ui is a Classic, please keep it as an option (it is like a Victron trademark)
if i may give some ideas,
a) i think for some, the uniform color is beautifull, but for others some color differentiaton is important ( like yellow for the solar components and red for the grid, green for the loads ecc…) maybe implement an option to choose from uniform to color in the new UI?
b) also if it is possible to have the possibility to use an esc key to go out of the last page settings parameter directly to the brief overview page or keyboard navigation
c) after the update to 3.50 in my system i lost acces to ess batterylife minimumsoc (entity no longer available) through modbus integration to home assistant where i control many automations. is it possible to renable this parameter? (solved entity came back after a rescan devices in HA victron integration)
d) light/dark mode persistant switch button?
e) automatic sunrise/sunset light/dark mode change?

Hey all, this is now quite a list of questions and remarks and whishes .

• Keyboard navigation will come back but its going to take a while before its back

• Undefined label showing for systems having three phase solar is fixed per beta v3.51~2.

• USB Mouse support is fixed per beta v3.51~2.

• Using energy meters to meter an EVCS is not an official feature yet, and we know there is more work needed.

• EM Device list name issue is noted:

• Mirroring what happens on Remote Console is not possible, so @MrHouse I recommend to install the new beta and add a usb mouse.

• Yes EVCS controls will be added @dansonamission

• Connections points good suggestion @pkk , noted.

• Translation issue was hard to reproduce but should be solved @juf , pls confirm.

I probably missed a few questions or comments, but this is it for now - have a good weekend!

Hello all, the new GUI is nice, great work!
There are a couple of suggestions I’d like to see:

• it would be good to see the cellular signal strength and location icon. I often have issues with Geofence alarms and it’s easy to quickly check if it’s a genuine alarm, or just no location at the time by looking for the location icon at the top of the screen.

• it would be better if the tank level indicator on the brief screen would use the custom name, rather than the tank type, eg:

I have a washer fluid tank, which is shown as “washer fluid” on the levels screen, but it’s shown as “fresh water” on the brief screen.

seems both issues « undefined » reported on pv inverter and grid reported as disconnected when inverter/chrparger is Off are solved. Great!
I love the new GUI and and in particular the convenience to navigate through menus.
