Good evening!

Its been silent for a while; and that was because we were implementing and especially testing an update of the “underlying OS”. The new version is called Scarthgap, an LTS version which is planned to remain active until 2028: Releases - Yocto Project.

For Venus OS, this means that many packages and used software has been updated to a newer version. One in particular is Python, where we updated from v3.8.18 to v3.12.8.

All that required - and still requires - quite extensive testing and making various smaller and larger changes to make it all work.

Aside from above there are a few more changes, like a newer version of the New UI, as well as other bug fixes and small features - for the details please check the change log.

ps. I know its been a bit silent with regards to feedback on reported issues and questions; we’ll come back to those soon.
