Venus OS UI on RPi Bug: Inverter box visible when only MPPT is connected

Hi Victron Community,

I am facing a persistent UI/Animation issue on my Venus OS (running on a Raspberry Pi).

My Setup:

  • Raspberry Pi running Venus OS
  • Victron MPPT Solar Charger (Connected and giving data correctly)
  • No Victron Inverter/Charger is physically connected to the system. I only use the MPPT.

The Issue:

  1. Ghost Inverter Box: Even though there is no Inverter/Charger connected, the VRM Dashboard and Remote Console still display the central “Inverter/Charger” box, showing it as “Off”.
  2. Stuck on “Connecting”: The control button on the top-right of the System Dashboard is constantly spinning and stuck on “Connecting”, trying to look for a non-existent inverter.
  3. Wrong Flow Animations: Because the system expects an Inverter but doesn’t find one, the mathematical calculations for DC loads/flows get confused. The blue dots/arrows show solar power flowing into the “Off” Inverter box instead of going straight to the Battery, especially when DC loads fluctuate.

Since “Display DC Loads” is enabled and there is no physical inverter, the UI should ideally hide the Inverter widget completely and route the solar flow animation directly to the battery/DC loads.

Is there a known workaround to force-hide the Inverter box in the current Venus OS version when only an MPPT is present? Or is this a bug that needs a fix in the next firmware release?

Thanks in advance!

@Mahasin26 The GlobalLink 520 is better suited to uses case consisting of only an MPPT or use the Victronconnect app. The Venus OS serves to reflect a complete Victron system with an inverter and the DC component shows the difference between what the inverter measures and e.g. loads that it does not see when they are powered / connected directly power from the batteries as your MPPT would be.
