Venus OS computing wrong AC load/ignoring PV inverter

Hi community,

I am quite new to the Victron world, and just ordered some stuff from Victron to extend the storage capacity of my existing PV setup. I am currently using a Tripower 8.0 SE and Sunny Home Manager 2.0 from SMA. I was quite positively surprised, that there already is a cummunity created tool to use the Home Manager as a grid meter, and also that I could already start testing Venus OS on a Raspberry.

However I am seeing a quite strange behaviour. I have added the Tripower as a inverter in my Venus OS and the Home Manager as the Grid meter. Both units are showing correct values. However the Dashboard does not show the PV Inverter, and the AC loads are not correctly calculated. Instead of calculating the difference between PV Inverter and Grid Meter, it seems only the positive phases of the grid meter (coming from utility grid) are summed up, negative phases measurements are ignored.

Is this a known bug, or maybe caused by not yet having a Victron Inverter in the system?

Best regards,
Fabian

Hi again,

I noticed that the grid meter that was provided by the script I used so far (GitHub - mitchese/shm-et340: Sunny Home Manager emulator in a Victron ESS System (replaces ET340)) didn’t show up at all in the v2 GUI, so I reemplemented the connection to the Sunny Home Manager in Nodered to use the Virtual Energy Meter provided there.

To read out the Inverter I am still using the new integrated sunspec connection.

This is my current dashboard. As you can see AC grid is correct and the inverter shows up but has no total power. When looking in the device itself, total power shows normally, but no Voltage/Current for the total (which is correct with a 3-phase system, I assume):

So it still seems the inverter is ignored for the computation of the totals.

Can anyone provide any input on this matter?

Thanks and best regards,
Fabian

Hi,

I just installed my system and the error disappeared on the real Cerbo, as soon as there were a Multiplus attached
