Venus on Android reliabilty

I haven’t had an opportunity to try it yet but am curious about the reliability of using an Android device as a GX device display. It appears to be a pretty straight forward installation.

I am curious, however, of how other user’s experiences have been to date. I notice a significant amount of posts regarding some issues with this kind of set up.

If you are a user of Venus on Android or have set it up for a client’s installation let me know what you think. Is it reliable? Any reasons you would or would not recommend it?

Thanks

The only thing i don’t like about it is leaving the tablet on charge continuously. I’m slightly paranoid about spicey pillow fires.

I think many of my issues are related to that.
But the reason the device was retired is the battery life. So there’s that. A new use for an otherwise landfill item.

I see there are a few mods on some threads for changing how its powered. Its a one day job…

We use a Galaxy Tab A7 10" tablet in our coach for about a year now without issue, great size for my old eyes.

Always powered on, with the Android battery protection feature enabled. Found a nice 3D printed wall mount for it. Love the WiFi vs. HDMI cable, our Cerbo isn’t near the tablet.
