Truck Camper Aux Battery Electrical Design (MPPT, AC Shore, DC-DC) Questions

Hi, I was hoping some of you with some more knowledge could help me answer a few questions I have at the moment. I’ve just started a rough schematic of my truck camper electrical system. I’ll be updating and adding to this one (wire gauges, fuse/breaker ratings, specific device model numbers, etc) later. And then doing more detailed schematics ones for certain areas like DC devices. But for now I’m just starting with a general overview. I do plan to use Victron devices for most of this. Especially the DC-DC charger and MPPT charger.

I was curious mostly about the breakers between the chargers, bus bar, and the aux battery.

From my understanding I need three separate breakers for the MPPT, AC Shore, and DC-DC charger with the needed amp rating for each between them and the battery. Correct? And since I’m running to a bus bar, I would want them between the chargers and the bus bar, correct?

Do I need another breaker between the busbar and the battery if the battery is going to be extremely close to the bus bar? Or is that overkill? If I do need it, I assume I just rate it based on the charger that outputs the most amps, correct?

Any point in doing a switch and a breaker between the battery and bus bar? Or just one of them and which one?

Have any of you seen any bus bars that allow you to insert different amp breakers into them to save space? Like a fuse block/breaker box. Or just anyway to make that whole part a little more condensed. If so, could you provide a link? I’ve searched a little and did really see anything, but may have not been looking correctly.

Any other advice, tips, or something you see wrong (etc) is very welcome. Thanks!

Find an electrician near you to work through the design with!

To start with, you should decide what you’ll be using on board, how long it’ll be running for, and how long you want to remain self-sufficient (e.g. to ride out bad weather). Will the vehicle mostly stay parked, or will you be travelling full-time?

You can fine-tune the planned battery capacity with more information about your travel habits (summer or winter trips, polar regions or the tropics).

The appliance data is then used to size their supply cables.

These, in turn, determine the main supply cable when the diversity factor is taken into account.

There are Lynx distribution units, as well as combined automotive fuse boxes like those from Blue Sea, with high-current fuses and distribution circuits.

The exact setup depends on your plan!
