Threadlocker for electrical connections

Anyone found a reliable and affordable solution for a thread locking product that can be used on electrical connections?

Loktite and similar products are not good as they are insulators. Loktite and other companies actually make epoxies that can be used on electrical connections but they are very expensive and fairly permanent.

I have use a dab of removable loktite on the top of a nut after installation and I even tried the silver adhesive used for circuit boards. Both seam like a decent option. Any thoughts?

Here’s one that is fairly practical. Just a dab on the top of the nut where it meets the threads is what I have done on battery and inverter lugs.

Maybe belleville washer, also called conical spring washers, might be better than a threadlocker? Hard to recheck torque using glue.

I haven’t tried Belleville washers but I should and will. Thanks for the reminder.

As for using Loktite, you only use it on the threaded studs, obviously, and very sparingly. The actual electrical contact is between the pad and lug and not the bolt itself. Given that, I don’t see any issues using blue Loktite (sparingly) on the threads. The only time we’ve had any issues is when the installer uses too much Loktite and some gets on the lug or pad.

I will try Belleville washers in the shop. That might remove one more source of potential installation error.
