Solar controller cycles every 10 minutes

Good morning everyone, does anyone have an idea why my solar charge controller (MPPT 100/30 – with 360Wp PV modules) is starting to cycle?

It makes no difference whether it happens early in the morning or throughout the entire day. The solar charge controller has been installed in the vehicle with this configuration since mid-May and, in my opinion, did not exhibit this behaviour before.

The cycling seems to have started around the time the SuperVolt Pro LiFePo battery was installed, which is now connected to the Cerbo via CAN bus as the “control variable”, with its BMS determining the charging behaviour (hence External Control). On the controller itself, the LEDs for BULK, Absorbation and Float are still flashing. However, the Cerbo no longer registers these mode changes in its “State” data point, but instead controls it via “External Control”.

The solar controller cycles exactly every 10 minutes. Are these cycles normal and did I simply not notice them before, or is this behaviour something that should be stopped – and if so, HOW?

There are already quite a few threads on this; it’s normal. The MPPT performs an MPP scan every 10 minutes, during which the power is briefly reduced to 0.

Sorry for asking again, but the “magnifying glass” produced an AI answer that said, “YES, this topic exists, but why this is the case couldn’t be determined” (roughly speaking—the brave new world of AI). That’s why I phrased the whole thing again.

Thanks for the tip.

This is the shade management feature, which you can disable on certain solar charge controllers via VictronConnect.

Apologies for the tangent, can you try search in English and see if you get a better result from the new AI search feature? I suspect it’s because we only recently started translating all topics. If this is the case I will take this up with the dev team.
I searched in English and got great results, so I suspect it is language-specific.

Here ends the tangent.
