How can I estimate my SOC using VRM through the Global520 without a Shunt? I won’t be returning to the site until next June and I would like to get an idea of how my system is performing throughout the winter months. I have been watching the battery voltage every day and it appears to be fine.
As you have a Cerbo GX and a more complex system than the GlobalLink 520 is designed for, consider swapping to a GX LTE 4G so the whole system reports to VRM. Otherwise you are left with monitoring battery voltage and charge current without a shunt.
Unfortunately, I do not have an ISP at that location. I do have a shunt but did not install it b/c I thought that the VRM would display what I needed. I will install the shunt when I return to the site in June. Although this is my second Victron system at that site it is larger and has more components. Now that I know more, I will add a Global 520 to the smaller system that is 100 feet away in another bldg. It already has a shunt. Thank You for the reply.
