Will a four foot negative battery cable affect the accuracy of the readings on my SmartShunt IP65? I have been told that anything over three feet causes a voltage drop. Thanks
It always depends on the current… what voltage and power can be expected?
You ideally want the shunt to be as close to the battery as possible, otherwise there is no point to it really.
And if have no choice then go with auch. Higher gauge and have good crimps to negate the issue as much as possible.
Thanks. I’ll find a way to mount it on the tongue right next to the battery. That limits the negative cable length to 12-18”.
