Smartshunt direction

Hi,

I’m building my first home battery system and ran into a problem with the direction of the Victron Smartshunt. I want to place it between the lynx power-in and lynx distributor on the negative bus bar. The initial idea was to order the devices like: Lynx Power-in, Smartshunt (neg. bus bar, on the positive there is a switch) and Lynx Distributor. Problem is that this would require the smartshunt to be mounted upside-down, which in turn would make the VE.direct and AUX connectors inaccessible. (see ch “ 3. Installation ” of the manual) It would not be more than a little hassle to reverse the order (i.e.: distributor, smartshunt, power-in), but it just not seems logical that I would need to design the layout around this one component. So am I missing something? Or this is it?

Thanks!

The latest version of the SmartShunt firmware has a setting to reverse the direction of the current flow so you can rotate it 180 degrees to get to the terminals then set the current flow to “Reversed” in the battery settings.
