Smaller Multiplus Units Need More Current to Operate

So, I recently posted a topic about a Multiplus 12/1200 that would only click repeatedly when turned on while I was attempting to program it. It would do this randomly. Sometimes I would get completely through the programming, turn it off and back on and it would go into the clicking, not powering up condition.

I was using the same method I always do, a BlueSmart IP22 as a power supply.

After much stress, because there is a large RV in my driveway waiting for this to be installed, I determined that the smaller MP units need more reliable amperage to operate. The IP22 doesn’t cut it. It works fine on MPs 2000VA and up but not the smaller ones.

As soon as I connected to a battery everything worked fine.

Perhaps there is someone smarter than me than can explain all this a little more technically.

I post this in hopes that it may save someone from the stress I have endured the last few days.
