Single phase for three 30a panels

I’m working on a boat that has three separate 30amp feeds. Each feed goes to an individual panel. The panel also has a selection switch to take a feed from a generator.

The customer wants these panels on the inverter. The inverters will be on the same battery bank

Here’s the questions:

  1. if each 30 amp panel is fed from its own Multiplus, should they be networked as single phase? Three phase is not needed. Everything I’ve seen is that all the inverters feed the same input not individual panels.

  2. If each inverter is on its own panel ( in and out) should only one inverter be charging the batteries?

  3. should the inverters be set to single phase, single feed (like the generator) and sent to the panels?

I haven’t seen any schematics that addresses this configuration.

I would recommend a parallel single-phase configuration for the Multis and feed all three panels from the combined output.

Things that might complicate the system are:

  1. multiple shore power inputs or multiple in-phase generator outputs - it is not easy to combine these sources to feed a common inverter bank.

  2. 3-phase shore power (obviously)

Running the Multi’s as independent inverter/chargers means they can’t be combined for display on a GX device (Cerbo, Ekrano, etc). But if you go this route, you can still have all three charge the battery bank as long as you don’t exceed the maximum charging current for your battery bank.
