Hello everyone,
How can I integrate the Shelly Pro3EM as a meter for the ESS?
So far, I have integrated the Shelly via a start script, which works very well. However, because of the native support, I now wanted to switch over with firmware 3.79. I can also find the Shelly via the IP search, and it appears under “Devices”, but what do I do now? If I disable the start script, I have no way of forwarding the native Shelly to the ESS. Or is there something that needs to be configured on the Shelly?

Shelly cannot be used as grid meters for ESS. At least not currently with the native integration. Maybe that will change, maybe it won’t.
Venus OS v3.70 - Shelly support :

Using a dedicated EM (one without switching capabilities) with one of the following roles: Genset, AC load or PV Inverter. Note that the Grid role is not supported.
V3.70 beta - new Shelly support :

We’re not supporting to use the Shelly as a grid meter. I’m aware that that will disappoint some people. The reason for that is when it comes to ESS and inverter/charger control; a lot of time and effort goes into making our various models, combinations and configurations work well; and maintaining and verifying that. And at this moment I don’t see enough value in officially supporting (yet) another type of energy meter.

Please use the forum search; the topic, including all the pros and cons, has already been discussed in great detail.
There’s a good reason why Victron doesn’t support Shelly devices as grid meters.

Why not just stick with the startup script? It works brilliantly, doesn’t it?
I have several installations running like that without any problems.

Thanks!
I had already searched, and the Pro3EM was explicitly mentioned there. The limitation that it doesn’t work as a grid meter wasn’t mentioned.
Never mind, I’ll stick with the startup script, since it works exactly as I need it to.
