Setting Equalization parameters in ESS

Hi,

I am running an ESS system with multiplus, victron mppt and lead acid batteries. I would need to equalize my bank but I think the ESS system where the VE bus ‘runs the show’, failes to take all my settings in account. I have set equalization voltage and current limit in the battery tab of the mppt settings in Victron connect app (64V, 25% current limit) but when I run equalization the multi ignores these settings, using 62V and too high a current (40A). I don’t know where it takes the 62V as this is not to my knowledge possible to set in VE.config.

Can anyone sort this out? Seem to be som sort of conflict of settings. Also if I start equalization throug the mppt (local bluetooth and victron connect app) the voltage stays in absorption voltage levels (around 59V) eventhough the mppt lights start to blink.

Have you configured temperature compensation in the charger settings?

So the recommended DVCC config is:

With this enabled and ESS installed, the charge settings in the inverter will control how the battery is charged.

The shunt should be the source for these.

You would typically start equalisation via the GX.

Temp compensation will increase or decrease charge based on the measured temp (presume you have an accurate temp sensor?) and your configured offset.

Maybe share your VRM remote config file or screenshot the charger tab from veconfigure - this should be the preferred way of changing settings since you are the ESS assistant.
