Self-Heating battery vs MultiPlus II

Hello,

I have a self-heating battery (VOLTHIUM 300a), a Cerbo GX and MultiPlus II (120v ) connected. When the battery’s temperature is below zero, the MultiPlus is not able to supply the current to activate the self-heating fonction of the battery.

Would it be possible to select a self-heating battery type in the configuration of the MultiPlus II that add a pre-charging phase for self-heating (10-15A), before the regular lithium charging phases Bulk, Absorption, Floating? Any suggestions will be appreciated

Regards

Marc

As the Multiplus will not operate without a battery, it can’t be used to supply current for the pre-heater.

To do that, you would need an external charger, capable of supplying the 15A or so required. Once the battery warms and becomes active, then the Multi can add it’s charging capability.

Take a look at the “Charging Current Assistant ” in the Assistant Menue.
Here you can change the charging current depending on an external switch/resistor…
A temperature switch on the battery and you could choose 5°C as the threshold for the charging current.

Thanks Steffen, I will look at this « Assistant ».

Appreciate your fed back

Hello Mike,

I have a self-heating lithium battery with a integrated BMS connected to a Cerbo Gx and the Cerbo is connected to the MultiPlus II. The battery as a self-heating capability, but it need a current of 15A to activate the integrated heating pad, but to MultiPlus start suppling the current but then, it is confuse because of the voltage that is reading from the battery (from integrated heating pads of the battery) then it switch to floating mode before the battery wars up

Best regards

Marc
