We have lead carbon batteries with a non standard charge voltage. Our Multiplus 3000 does fine to meet the load requirements when inverting, but at anchor, running the generator, the 120 amp charger is slow for our 1200 ah bank. The batteries will take up to 225 amps of charge. I have a Cerbo and I am using DVCC to manage charging amperage with under power (2 x 250 ah alternators with WS500 regulators)
Space constraints for the 3000 limit my ability to replace with a Quattro 5000(long story, but I have one already). But I want to add additional charging when at anchor. The Victron dedicated chargers don’t allow for the charge profile I need, so I was considering installing the Quattro as a dedicated charger only. For ease of wiring I will use a leg of the 240v generator to power the 120 ac in on the Quattro.
I know that adding a second inverter of dissimilar type to the Multi 3000, the Cerbo can not control the Quattro directly. What I want to know is will it recognize the charging amperage of the Quattro via the Lynx smart shut and limit the charging of the Multi to meet the charge amperage limit set in the Cerbo?
