I’m trying to connect a Safiery Star Tank to my Cerbo GX. Because it is in a metal diesel tank and it’s a radar sensor, its output is not anything like what the Cerbo is expecting, so the Cerbo refuses to accept the figures. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?
Due the the liquid being diesel, the radar doesn’t bounce off the surface of the liquid, it bounces off the bottom of the tank and then takes a multipath and bounces off the underside of the liquid surface which gives distances far higher than the depth of the tank. This is known to Safiery and expected, but the Cerbo seems to think it’s an error. As an example, the depth of the tank is 45cm but the depth readout is 236cm empty and 260cm full.
The various AIs think its because the numbers make no sense so the Cerbo is rejecting them. If I reboot the Cerbo it says “ok” instead of “unknown for about 15 seconds before reverting to unknown.
Im unsure, to me that looks ok. The only thing i can think of is that somehow its not able to work with 200cm of tank heigth, which would be strange since its just a value remapping from cm to l, so the actual raw height value shouldnt make a difference
That’s what the AIs think. The 200+ figure is more than the preset Star Tank <50cm small tank setting so it rejects it as impossible. I’ve tried using the medium setting but that didn’t work at all.
