Hi,
I want to replace the Multiplus 3000 GX with the Multiplus 5000 GX in VRM portal.
I am following these instructions: [14. Replacing a Victron GX device in VRM](https://www.victronenergy.com/media/pg/VRM_Portal_manual/en/replacing-a-victron-gx-device-in-vrm.html)
Everything until point 5 works. But there I can´t select my new GX device. It isn´t in the list of “Replacement GX device”.

Do I something wrong? I tried it several times without success.
When I stop at point 5, the new GX device is a new installation in VRM portal.

Hi @Tom485 ,

The new GX needs to be on and connected to the internet for VRM to be able to detect it in that step. Could you check if that is the case?

Kind regards,

Barbara

Hi @Barbara,

That is the case. I can also see live data from the installation in the VRM Portal afterwards.
I only have the problem that the new device is not shown under “Replacement GX device”.

Hi @Tom485 ,

I have checked your situation, and you can use the replace gx flow as following:

1. Go to your old installation (the one that needs to get the new gx device).
2. Go to Settings → General → Replace the GX device of this installation.
3. There you should be able to see the replacment GX ID.

Please let us know how it goes.

Kind Regards,
Reza - VRM Team

Hello @Amirreza,

unfortunately, it’s still the same problem. The replacement GX device isn’t displayed, but then appears as a new installation in the VRM Portal.

Had the same issue yesterday.
Tried and failed 3 times. As I was using beta I tried prod and it worked.
Remember to reboot the new gx when changes are made or deleted when joining vrm.
In the end I added a new site. Rebooted.
Went to the old site, chose replace and could then select both.
