Hi , I’ll start by saying that this is for a remote small house . Recently the house’s battery died and I had to take a power bank to charge my phone . I was wondering if it would be possible to connect the mppt directly to the inverter ( I have the 100/30 mppt and the inverter is the Phoenix 12V 1000W VE Direct). I know it is not supposed to work without a battery but in this way I could charge the essentials and have light in the house. What do you think about this?
Not without a battery.
Chance of damaging the inverter power supply are quite high.
Andnthen also the light would only work in the daytime ![]()
If you had 12v stuff you could possibly use the mppt like a power supply and work off it like that (as long as there are no surge loads) But definitely no 230v stuff off the inverter.
Realistically how long would your system be without a battery though?
