Relay Multiplus

Hello everyone,

I have a Multiplus installed on a land vehicle that can be recharged from a 230 V AC socket, similar to a forklift plug.
I need to configure the Multiplus relay so that when the system is connected to the 230 V AC supply, the engine starter circuit is inhibited.

To achieve this, I plan to connect the relay’s NC (Normally Closed) contact in series with the starter circuit. This way:

  • When the relay is de-energized, the C–NC path is closed and the C–NO path is open.

  • When the relay is energized, the C–NO path is closed and the C–NC path is open.

Therefore, in VE.Configure, I’ll add a Programmable Relay Assistant and set it to “Relay off when AC Input is available”, with a short delay (a few seconds should be enough).
Then I’ll add a second Programmable Relay Assistant set to “Relay on when AC Input is not available.”

This should ensure that when the vehicle is plugged into the grid, the starter circuit is interrupted, preventing the engine from starting.

Has anyone already tried this setup and can confirm if it works as expected?

Thanks,

Roberto

Sounds ok, just be mindful of switching capacity of mp internal relay isn’t exceeded, if its near capacity add another suitable relay
