Reading out multiple temperature sense

Hi,

I’ve got two Multiplus II and want to use the included temperature sense connection ( 8. Appendix ) to measure e.g. room-temperature, but not (as intended) the battery-temperature.

After connecting the temperature sense to the first Multiplus, you can access this temperature at DBUS com.victronenergy.vebus.YOURCONNECTION/Dc/0/Temperature => that’s fine.

Communication to my battery-system is done via BMS.
Do I have to apply any special configuration so that the temperature of the external sense is not taking into consideration for adapting the battery-charging?

After connecting the second temperature sense to the second Multiplus, I see no change at all.
Is there a way to access both connected temperature sense respectivey if no, how does multiple Multipluses deal with multiple sensors?

Usually the master is the one that sets the tone.

Connect the temperature sensor to the GX instead. That way it can be assigned as you want it.

So you think it’s not possible to read out a sensor connected to a slave Multiplus. You could be right…

I’m using a raspberry pi.

Oh well. That idea is out the window.
There are many way to add temperature to the PI though. From ruuvi to other options.

There is a module that changes the temp sensor into voltage for PI. ADC or something like that, there was a discussion i read in the mods space.

There are other options too.

I know how to measure temperature via raspberry pi (e.g. DS18b20), and I think it would be no great effort to achieve this also on Venus OS.
But I wanted to add temperature measurement with miminum effort. This is the case with temperature sense via primary Multiplus, that’s fine for me.

Did you figure out how to do this then? And then assign it to a room temperature instead of battery temp?

The battery temperature used is usually sorted through DVCC.
