Question about dc-dc converters - alternators

I want to buy an alternator / dc-dc converter to use it as an extra charging way when needed at my car while driving for my LiFePO4 storage battery 12V 100A and i see there are too many converters in victron website.
Can anyone tell me which one suits best to my needs?
Do i need an isolated, a non isolated ? The Smart or the XS is best option ?

I would take the XS, it is much more efficient. Additional you can program a max. charging current (e.g. in the summer this can be useful)

Where is your storage battery mounted? Do you have an intelligent alternator control??

My storage battery is total portable in a box with everything inside for solar and other ways of chargning but no alternator control.
I was between the XS and a smart TR option up to 20A maximum since i have the victron smart charger 10A and the mppt solar charger connected with switches to that battery also so i want to add this option too when needed while driving.
I guess i am about to go for the XS 12 | 12 50A

ok, the background of the question of a smart alternator control is, that modern vehicles charge the starter battery only up to, say 60% (12,xxV).

Only if you are in coasting mode, running down a hill, approaching a traffic light without braking, your alternator will charging with full power to save fuel.
Modern vehicles also can be programmed in special modes (RV).

So if you have an older vehicle, that nuisance is not on board and you can parallel the accubox easily over the XS and program the max charging current to prevent overloading the alternator (measure temperatures, ask the manufacturer for max./safe load current)

Thanks for the infos on the car issue. Yes i have an old car and i really dont wanna make any damage to the alternator or the starter battery!
I hope XS will be ok, i ll have to find some time to check the manual about it!
