I can see VRM has a new update for Orion XS V1.15 but can’t find a changelog and there is no visual changes that I can see once updated, hoping this is part of the emergency start function. Does anyone have any inside into the update?
Thanks Matthias, does this mean reverse charging is enabled if so how does it work? As I can’t see any changes logging into the devices remotely
Hmm, mine’s still in 1.13. I’m keen to try that charging.
Thanks, joining the beta now. Here’s the link if anyone else wants it:
It says it is disabled in the settings, please add some more screenshots.
It doesn’t work when it’s been disabled via the remote terminals
No, it should work without the remote signal.
Not in my testing, remove the remote terminal and it disables the function
Worked fine for me with the D+ wired.
Any idea if the activation of the functionality will be made available outside of Victron connect? I was thinking specifically via MQTT? The State gets set to 243 (which is presently undefined) but I’m hoping it can be triggered be setting the Mode topic (or something like that)
I went into Settings > Reset to Defaults.
Picked the 12V starter and setup my batteries for 24V LiFePO4 again and it’s all working now ![]()
I got the XS as soon as it was launched for the 24V version. I could possibly have had some settings that weren’t correctly set when I upgraded from the release firmware that only affected the reverse charging.
I just expanded my testing to 4 XS50’s and only one of the units disables charging when the remote pin is removed so I would say I have found a glitch there
Try a factory reset at that unit.
Same here, factory reset done but it still not working when the motor is off. (My config is with D+ remote signal, no smart alternator and no motor running detection)
It appears engine detection must be enabled for it to work
For me it doesn’t change anything…
But… I have an Multiplus 12/1200/50-16 in my setup and the trickle charge connector is connected to the starter battery.
I have switched off the grid and the emergency button is not greyed anymore !
I have switched on again the grid and the emergency button is still available…
[EDIT] Greyed again after around 30 min and no changes…
Sound a little bit strange !
(And the new firmware still lack of an “Auto Equalization” Disable switch…)
It was the same for me. I always deactivate it when I control Remote “H” with D+. I think that’s a poorly designed solution. I don’t switch the battery charger on via an engine-running signal without good reason.
