I’ve been having occasional “Voltage Sensor Error” alerts on a system that has been running fine for over 3 years now. Lately, such alerts has been getting more frequent, and yesterday I had the installation’s sole MP-II 5kVA switch off, while the battery was full and current draw was minimal. I suspect the inverter shut off at the exact time when a water pump was starting up (1200W water pump, never been an issue so far, however I am in the process to install a VFD for driving it). However, the VRM logs did not register any surge in output power and that’s what seems strange on yesterday’s event.
The sense wires to the inverter are not connected. The battery is connected via BMS-can and is reporting its values properly, although the refresh rate is sub-optimal (at around 3 seconds) since the system setup.
I downloaded the log file to examine the source of the inverter shut-off, but couldn’t locate anything suspicious. No high DC ripple events, no low battery events, nothing. Also no surge on output power whatsoever, which is strange.
I today visited the installation to check on any potential loose connections and check battery balance, everything seems to be OK.
- VRM site ID is 278343, in case someone would like to have a look.
- Any ideas why “Voltage sense error” alerts are getting more frequent?
