Dear all,
I have an installation with a GlobalLink 520
Firmware-Version v2.06 and a connected shunt. Both show up correctly in the bluetooth part of the Victron App (locally) and the online VRM Portal (remotely). But within the VRM part of the victron App nothing is displayed. I checked the correct vrm login date a hundered times now, reinstalled the app,… but now luck.
Any ideas would be highly appreciated
Regards
What devices are these?
As i wrote: a GlobalLink 520 and a SmartShunt
From the VC manual it states:
The VictronConnect-Remote feature is ONLY compatible with products connected to a GX product with a VE.Direct or a VE.Can-only interface. VE.Can devices that have both a VE.Can AND a VE.Direct interface, must be connected to the GX device via VE.Direct for VictronConnect-Remote to work.
Globalink is not a GX device, though it is not explicitly mentioned as unsupported for remote-VRM over VC app.
It clearly states VRM support which is why you can see it, but on face value, it seems that specific app functionality is limited to Cerbo, Venus, Ekrano, Pi etc - most likely since GX’s run different software.
The GL has always had some compromises on capability.
Looking at the VC release notes, it seems to focus mainly on local connectivity and bluetooth to the device itself.
Thank you for this clarification
regards
It’s not supported due to the data usage that would be required for live data from VRM. The GlobalLink comes with LTE-M connectivity out of the box but the available data is limited.
