I measure no power between the Trickle CHarge point on the Multiplus2 and the Big Minus on the multiplus2. What can be wrong?
Is the main battery being charged? What’s the trickle charge hooked to?
I have shore power, Lithium battery, orion xs en cerbogx. Everything works. Except for the power on the trickle charge.
If you are on shore power, and the main batteries are lithium and are fully charged, the charger may not be producing any current; and thus the trickle charge output may not be producing any output.
What is normally connected to the trickle charge output?
I suspect it is damaged OR the main battery charger is not charging.
Good luck!
what your sayimg is: When the mainbattery is 100% charged, the trickle charge to the startbattery will not work? I tested the following:
With and without shorepower. Voltage between trickle point Minus on Multiplus. Current between the trickle charge point and the Plus on the starter battery. Everyhing was zero.
From the manual for a Multiplus II:
2.3.2. Second charge output for starter battery
The 12V and 24V MultiPlus is equipped with a second charge output intended for maintenance charging of a starter battery. It
uses a simple circuit with a current limiter and diode, allowing a continuous trickle charge (4A) from the main (domestic) battery
to the starter battery. Due to the diode’s 0.3 - 0.6 V drop, charging only occurs when the main battery is being actively charged or
when the starter battery’s voltage is much lower.
OK. THe main battery is 100% charged. the startbattery is almost completely dead. Dropped from 13V to 10.7 in 3 hours. So i should measure some current . THe main Battery (lifePo4) is 13.3V
It is difficult to help you when you don’t answer questions.
Check fuses and loads on the starter battery - it should not discharge like that unless there are significant loads on it.
This might help: How does the Multiplus trickle charger work
Did you have an inline 4A fuse between the trickle charger and the starter battery?
