Hi Folks!
I’m trying to get temperature compensation dialed in according to manufacturer’s specs using Ve Configure 3.
I have (4) Trojan T 105’s (flooded lead/acid) in a series/parallel config (so…12v total). And according to them, these specs are based on a 12v bank.
Manufacturer says to;
Add
0.005 volt per cell for every 1°C below 25°C
0.0028 volt per cell for every 1°F below 77°F
Subtract
0.005 volt per cell for every 1°C above 25°C
0.0028 volt per cell for every 1°F above 77°F
Does anyone know what the magic number would be?
Also, in VE Configure 3 - is it in C of F ?
I think I may have it figured out with the help of AI (oh no!)
A 12V system using Trojan T-105s (6-volt batteries wired in series/parallel) contains a total of 6 cells .
Celsius calculation: 6 cells × (-5 mV/°C) = -30 mV/°C
Fahrenheit calculation: 6 cells × (-2.8 mV/°F) = -16.8 mV/°F (Victron software typically uses -16.2 mV/°F as the standard preset equivalent)
It seems you have to use the Fahrenheit value in VE Configure3 even though it doesn’t seem to indicate (anywhere) whether it uses F or C…

No, the AI has provided incorrect information. It is 16.2 mV/°C for a battery voltage of 12 V. This value is also included in the charge controller’s default settings.
Odd..I thought it would have been different for different batteries. I guess the 12v spec is largely universal? Either way, it’s good to know it’s OK - thank you!
